A Vortex in Anmar
It is a photographic project that metaphorically represents the human struggle to rectify their mistakes and the thoughts that often arise when clinging to ideals that lead only to chaos. Through this story, we delve into the journey of the protagonist, Jal, in an apocalyptic world. He confronts his fears and the chains that keep him imprisoned, while embarking on a quest for rebirth and a new life after the chaos.
Humanity was on the brink of extinction due to pollution, lack of oxygen, and solar storms that had made life increasingly difficult on the red planet. All global systems had collapsed, resources were running out, animals, vegetation, and the population were steadily decreasing. Faced with this desolate panorama, the survivors began the construction of spaceships to save their civilization and seek a new home among the stars.
But this divided them...
Some survivors were blinded by the idea of saving this planet, searching for ways to remedy all their mistakes, but these were irreversible. Sheltering in the last metropolises, they tried to adapt to a toxic environment that only led them to their downfall. As a last act of hope, Anmar was built, a final human settlement, to give one last chance to those who wished to save themselves before the end and could travel to a new planet.
Jal, who had survived the catastrophe trying to save his loved ones, decides to embark on a journey to Anmar. He had lost everything: family, friends, and home. Blinded by a false hope, he had seen everything succumb to chaos, something he had already anticipated. Alone, terrified, and full of guilt, he then decides it is time to leave the place he once called home, but on his way, he would face an internal struggle between letting go of everything or clinging to this place.
